Galactic Council Collective: Cosmic Hip-Hop Activators

The Galactic Council Hip-Hop Collective is a group of spiritual artists who use art to bring healing to Planet Earth. The collective consists of independent hip-hop, reggae, and electronic musicians, who are part of a large network of community activists and healers.  The music is a unique combination of conscious hip-hop, funk, and reggae filled with positive vibes and bass-bumping beats.

The Galactic Council Hip-Hop Collective was formed by producers Resonant Sun and Cerberus, both Bay Area natives, who have been producing together for over five years with the intention of creating positive hip-hop. They collaborated with 12 cutting-edge musicians to produce the new Galactic Council CD "Galactic Funktions" including well-known reggae artists Rocker-T and Arjun. Many other talented underground artists also guest-star such as Seasunz, Abai, and Jon Dutro.

Highlights over the last three years include the H.O.M.E. project at Harmony Festival 2007, freestyle space at Symbiosis 2007, solar-powered freestyles at Burning Man 2005-2007, and the epic cypher at Earthdance 2006. The birth of Cypher Train was a big hit during Harmony and Rainbow in 2006.

The Deeper Story

In 1987, the world witnessed a visible Supernova explosion and the so-called "Harmonic Convergence" took place, giving rise to a new era of galactic consciousness and understanding. During this time, the Mayan Calendar came into the awareness of many people and books like The Mayan Factor started increasing our understanding of the galaxy through a more synchronistic understanding of time.

The Science of Time is one of the many ideas which were discussed in the original Galactic Council meetings, which were private gatherings where intentions were set for people to study and communicate about cosmic subjects, and open the door to the higher planes of mind.

Now these meetings continue through the mediums of music, poetry, and healing, in a west coast collective of visionary M.C.s known simply as the Galactic Council. Through Mayan crystal gatherings and festival booths, the collective has provided open mic space for all people to come together and pray musically. The collective is now getting ready to start producing next-level events featuring Mayan astrology, open-mic freestyle workshops, and spiritual hip-hop showcases.
