HipHopShabbat (aka Original Jewish Gangsters)
The HipHopShabbat Crew is the only Jewish hip-hop group that combines traditional Jewish song, prayer and liturgy with contemporary hip-hop beats and rhythms. Group members Yo-Natan and Lion of Judah lead Jewish hip-hop prayer services and workshops at synagogues, day schools, summer camps, Hillels, and Jewish Community Centers across the country. Families, college students, teens, grandparents and children have all discovered a renewed enthusiasm for Shabbat prayer through the "HipHopShabbat" experience.
Resonant Sun (aka J Money)
Known to experiment outside of genre, Resonant Sun's music can best be described by the name of his second album "TribalAstroFunk" which is a combination of hip-hop, reggae, jazz, and downtempo breakbeats. Alongside the unique groove of the music are fluent lyrics which range in topic from ecological awareness to psychedelia to the nature of time.
The Galactic Council: Hip-Hop Collective
The Galactic Council Hip-Hop Collective is a group of spiritual artists who use art to bring healing to Planet Earth. The collective consists of independent hip-hop, reggae, and electronic musicians, who are part of a large network of community activists and healers. The music is a unique combination of conscious hip-hop, funk, and reggae filled with positive vibes and bass-bumping beats.
Arjun and Guardians:
Arjun and Guardians came to be through many creative permutations and is currently a musical collective whose influences range from reggae-kirtan to rock and ethno-electronica. Their latest album "Hotel Arjun" is now available at CD Baby! "Hotel Arjun" is filled original sounds and soulful songs, with shades of Indie, Reggae, India, and Classic Americana.
